    CONTINUATION OF EXCELLENT WORK OF THE CANTONAL COURT IN LIVNO

    Summary of the Cantonal Court in Livno operative report for 2021

    The Cantonal Court in Livno is the highest instance of the judiciary in Canton 10. Under the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Court in Livno is the Municipal Court in Livno with its divisions in Tomislavgrad and Drvar.

    At the end of 2020, 883 cases remained unresolved in the Cantonal Court in Livno. During 2021, the Cantonal Court in Livno received 1.208 cases, so that in 2021 a total of 2.091 cases were pending. In 2021, a total of 1.306 cases were resolved, and this year the percentage of resolved cases in relation to the inflow is 108,11%. At the end of 2021, 785 cases remained unresolved, which is 98 cases or 11,10% less than at the beginning of the reporting period.

    The achieved collective norm of the court for 2021 is 124,11%. All judges of this court achieved over 100% of the average annual norm.

    The average duration of 1.306 resolved cases is 363 days, which is 91 days less than in 2020, when the average duration of cases was 454 days.

    The total number of decisions made in 2021 for which a legal remedy can be filed is 854, while the total number of appealed decisions is 97, and the total number of rejected legal remedies is 74. Out of the total number of appealed decisions, 69 decisions were confirmed, 8 amended and 20 revoked.

    From the above data, it follows that the quality of court decisions is 83,95%.

    According to the annual Case Resolution Plan for 2021, the obligation to resolve 28 first-instance cases has been determined, while according to the 4 (four) quarterly Case Resolution Plans for 2021, the obligation to resolve a total of 585 cases has been determined. On 31st December 2021, 613 cases were resolved, so that the percentage of resolved cases from the plan is 100%.

    According to the official report of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH), the Cantonal Court in Livno is among the leading courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina with achieved percentage of case resolution plans in the amount of 100%.

    In 2021, the Cantonal Court in Livno had no war crimes cases. It should be noted that the court so far finalized 7 (seven) war crimes cases, in 1 (one) case the proceedings are suspended due to the death of the accused and 1 (one) case has been resolved in 2020 which decision is not yet final.

    According to the data from the report, it is evident that this court in 2021, in addition to the continuation of the pandemic caused by the Corona virus (COVID-19), achieved good results.
